Imagine stepping away from the main festival hum, taking a gentle stroll, and finding music tucked among the trees. That's the secret charm of the Musical Forest at Highlonesome, a special place where nature and melodies come together in the most beautiful way.

Nestled deep within the woods at Dockley Ranch, Myke and Claire lovingly prepare this winding trail for everyone to enjoy. It's a delightful walk, easy underfoot, guiding you deeper into the Ozark landscape. As you wander, you'll discover a series of small, simple stages, each one crafted from local wood, blending right into the surroundings.

These aren't your typical big stages. Here, musicians perform completely unplugged, without any amplifiers. It's just their instruments and voices, clear and pure, carried on the gentle breeze. You'll find all sorts of sounds along the trail – a wide variety of acoustic styles performed by these talented "buskers." One moment, you might hear a soulful folk song, and the next, a lively bluegrass tune, or perhaps the sweet sounds of an old-time fiddle. Each turn of the path brings a new discovery, a fresh melody to enjoy.

As you follow the trail, you’ll also pass by the lovely Columbine Falls. The sight and sound of the water add another layer to the forest's peaceful atmosphere. It's a moment to pause, breathe in the fresh air, and let the sounds of the water and music wash over you.

The Musical Forest is a place for quiet moments, for true listening, and for simply being present. It’s a chance to connect with the music and the natural beauty of the Ozarks in a truly intimate way. It's one of those special Highlonesome experiences that really stays with you, a quiet treasure in the heart of the festival.
