About the event
Beth Bombara is a formidable musician and songwriter whose latest work, It All Goes Up, marks a triumphant evolution in her career, drawing comparisons to the raw emotional resonance of artists like Kathleen Edwards and Aimee Mann. A true multi-instrumentalist with a degree in music, Bombara’s deep musicality was forged through years of playing guitar, bass, keys, and percussion in various bands before stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist. Though she initially struggled with performance anxiety, a breakthrough performance for 10,000 people at the Missouri Botanical Gardens solidified her confidence as a lead performer. Her recent songwriting serves as a search for silver linings, utilizing a classical guitar found during the pandemic to bring a hopeful, positive, and "shimmering" sonic direction to her music. Co-producing her own work alongside partner Kit Hamon, Bombara creates lush, varied arrangements that highlight her "achingly beautiful" vocals and perceptive, deeply personal lyrics.
